I had a bsl rooster as my main guy for a few years. I had him over various hatchery pure-bred hens, plus again over some mixes from those crosses. I've got some pretty birds, but I don't always know exactly who the momma was....

pretty sure the momma was one of my leghorn/ee mixes. I hatched lots of thier eggs--love that cross! This girl lays pretty blue-green eggs.

Again, probably bsl roo over leghorn/ee hen. Colored egg layer also

This girl didn't get any barring and laid a brown egg, but from the comb and muffs was either out of an ee/leghorn or ee hen

Not sure who this guy's momma was

I wasn't positive on her momma, but I believe it was a silver laced wyandotte from the comb and body shape. Brown egg layer.

bsl rooster over (I think) a Welsummer hen.


My barred boys are all gone now...this last rooster is my sole surviver. So, no more barred hens for me! I'm working on some sex link projects, so all the barred birds will be boys from here on out.
