I knew what you meant. Lots of newbies call female chicks hens.

Hens are female chickens 1 year, & older that are laying eggs.

The black sex links that i had were the flightiest of the bunch, but not aggressive at all. They just didn't want to be touched. The brown sex links were much more aggressive about treats. The blacks stood back and waited for me to leave before they would rush in to get their share - the browns would stand on my shoes and jump for the bucket ...
