Excellent job! I don't know if I would have the nerve to do that, hopefully I won't have to find out. The few cases of sinus issues that I have had here (I think 3 in 10 years?) I drained with a syringe before they had a chance to harden. The birds all held remarkably still for it which was a good thing because as soon as I mention 'bird' and 'sinus' in the same sentance my family goes into hiding. I like to think they know that we are trying to help, but it is more likely an instinct where they don't move so they don't get torn?

She looks so much more comfortable, can you post pics when she is completely healed?

Yes, I will DEF post pictures as she heals!, Again, I appreciate it..

I do actually have a question.. Is the sinus cavity usually empty?

If it ever starts to look aggrivated, or swollen do I just give her some tylan injected into the cavity area?

Sweetgaits,
Glad to see my thread could help someone else!

You did a great job on a double problem. The cavity is empty. At first I thought anything he would eat would fall out the hole but it doesn't LOL

I do not know about the tylan 200 as I do not have any I used baytril. Just watch the bird, she should heal all by her self. I put mine back inside with the others a few days later. He did not like being cramped in a small cage LOL. The best thing for the little girl's face to heal is fresh air.

It should be. If you start to see it bump up like that again, you can give her Tylan, but I would suggest 200 over 50... 50 for peas may as well be water. The best place/way is to give it subcutaneously (under the skin not into the muscle) between the base of the neck and the top of the wings. Injecting it into the breast (as some might say) can leave scars or damage the muscle. Definitely don't try to inject it into the cavity, you could puncture the inside of the cavity and cause blood to drain into her lungs.
