Black Silkie hen

I brought a black silkie who was brought as a 24 week pullet but now has all the atributes of a male. I was thinking of putting in a chicken ark in the garden and putting him in there with a few black silkie females but still let them roam in the garden during the day. Would it cause behavior problems having two groups mixing then going into a different coop and run at night? Chicken maths strikes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, but if you hatch the eggs they may not be pure. (assuming you also have a rooster in the other group) Chickens will destroy your garden though.

No he will be the only male in either group, I like the chickens and they enjoy the garden so we will manage somehow.

Well I got home after a two week holiday at Disney and first thing I heard was the little so and so crowing! That settle the argument he is a boy
