Black skinned meat chickens

Is there any scientific proof of any medicinal qualities ( or for what illness ) for the black ( a pigment) skinned chicken other than folklore ?

Silkie meat is exactly the same as regular chicken meat only your brain switches to "oooh funny colour" and makes you think it tastes gamier. I say 'think' because my husband insists it's gamey, insists he never had it and yet his mother told me she used to slip silkie meat into his dinners 'covered with tomatoes' so he wouldn't notice.

It's supposed to promote having a male child. She had 6 boys, 2 girls and started eating silkie meat after the first 6 boys, hahaha.

It always makes me a little sad when I see "Silkie Chicken" at the asian market. I just don't know if I could do the deed to those adorable little mop-tops... I think they remind me too much of a stuffed animal or something

Ideal has black broilers, are they black skinned? Does anyone have pics of a dressed black skinned chicken? I have never seen one.

The Ayam Cemani has to be one of the neatest chickens I have ever seen. SO COOL, I want one now.
