Black spot developing mid beak?

Our girls are 8 weeks old today and I've noticed over the past week or so they started to develop a little bit of black on the beaks about mid point. They seem very healthy they run around everywhere, they eat and drink fine. We still have them inside since we are still building the coop.

Or is this just normal?

Please help.

What breed of chicks? It is probably a normal beak marking if they are all getting it and at the same place.

Don't worry, it's normal for the color of beaks and feet to change as they grow. Feathers too for that matter! Many solid black breeds have some pure white feathers when they're young.

They're Delawares about 8 weeks old. A few of them have it and a few of them don't.
