I have about 5 eggs that my khaki Campbell is sitting on, I didn't know she had gone broody. Im not sure but think they should hatch around 1/28 This is my first time having ducks.

Aw they're adorable!

Wish i'd seen this thread earlier. The dark spot could have been a damaged blood vein or even just gunk, like some of the yellow stuff that's left in the shell when they hatch. Usually i mark eggs that have it so i can keep an eye on that egg specifically. The ones ive had with a dark spot some are ok some die. So it's hard to say if that would be a problem or not

Black spot DID hatch. I had two pass without even internally pipping though we had a little duck funeral for them.

My SO got me fertilized eggs from Metzer farms as an early Christmas present! In reply to your other comment about your khaki: so exciting!! Please keep me updated! I’ll say a prayer all goes well for your sweet babies!
