We have two roosters that both have these small black spots on their combs and wattles. Have never seen this on my hens not sure what it is. I've looked up fowl pox but it doesn't look quite the same. What do you think?

Let me know if you are having trouble viewing the photo. I couldn't manage to upload it the normal way.

I noticed spots like that on my 2 roosters and one if my hens today. I was worried something was wrong with them. I have been planning in getting rid of one of my roosters...

they don't fight with each other but they came from a flock with too many rooster and they were at the bottom of the pecking order.
I'm glad its normal. :)

I noticed my BCM rooster has similar black areas on his comb & wattle. My BCM hen has a more solid black to her comb and wattle. They are healthy and active. She lays an egg every day for the past three weeks worth the exception of skipping a day a week after she stayed laying. They are about 9 months old. No black on any of my other chickens. It hasn't been cold enough for frostbite. Any ideas what this is? I'm new to chicken keeping and to backyard chickens so hopefully I can upload the pictures correctly. Thanks!

It looks like my rooster has exactly what your rooster has, small black dots on the front of his comb. I’ve only noticed it in the past couple of days but he doesn’t seem in pain. And Hes the only rooster I have so he couldnt of fought with another rooster. I’m not sure what it is, is it serious? If so how do I treat it?

Welcome to BYC? Can you post any pictures? Peck marks or injuries from wire fencing can look jet black. Fowl pox from mosquitoes can look tan to dark brown. Even hens can peck a rooster. Does he act sick or is he being bullied?
