I boiled some store-bought eggs; definite black spots showed up on the egg whites, so I threw them all away, just to be sure. And I can't seem to find an answer as to what it might have been. Never had this happen before.

Thanks Hholly. Don't you think it can be dirtiness in the water. Do I need to worry?If they were brown eggs I would bet its just some pigment coming through the porous shell, as someone stated upthread.

the spots are usually on the surface and a little bigger than a head of a pin to a pin point in size.
