I have a chicken who I have seen have with black spots on its comb. I know it is a type of pox, but I don't know which!! It has been hot where I live. Some of the black marks are scars from pecking but the others are from some type of pox!!

Can you post a picture of your chicken? Sometimes it is hard to tell peck marks from scabs of fowl pox. Pox is a virus spread by mosquitoes. Dry pox is usually uncomplicated, and goes away without treatment in a few weeks. Wet pox, however, can be deadly, and can be seen as yellow ptches inside the throat.
