Black Stars

I have 6 black stars and was wondering if anyone knows what breeds were crossed to develop them.

It could be any of the breeds that make black sex links. There is no set standard. If you read Tadkerson's post, you can see from his black sex link chart which breeds it might be.

Thar said, if they came from a commercial hatchery, odds are it is a Rhode Island Red rooster and a Barred Rock hen, but there is absolutely no guarantee that is correct. There are many other possible combinations.

They are basicly black Sexlinks and few hatcheries will TRUTHFULLY tell the exact crosses they use, but pretty much Production Red roosters, and Barred Rock hens.
