wait, what? TJ has a "bent carriage"? How is that manifesting? I would not expect chicks hatched in June ( been there) to achieve the same weight or size as their parents But they can still sire that parental weight and size. How about giving TJ some Farmer's Helper Chick Ultra Kibble to supplement his ration? I had good success with it.
Unless you can feel a smooth flat back under those ruffled feathers Alex has, I think you are looking at a "roach back" which is a breeding DQ.

oh, ok. Thanks for the clarification. I wouldn't worry about temperament at this age. My Lights were also very skittish at this age and all settled down to typey docile , curious, gentle birds when they matured. I think this age is just a fear period in development.
