The lesions or warts eventually dry and fall off onto the ground and are very infective. If they are eaten by a chicken or turkey, then it develops into wet pox. Wet pox is worse than dry pox and is life threatening.Then you can market them as pox resistant(To that strain anyway)
If you take a warm wet napkin to the spot does it come off at all, or color the towel red, like dried blood?

Thank you all for the info! This has been very helpful to consider other options it could be. Our turkey’s spot seems darker than the ones in that picture. I haven’t tried dabbing it with a cloth or napkin, that is a good idea - though I doubt she’ll let me close enough right now! We will keep monitoring it to see if it spreads or grows worse. So far she hasn’t shown any other symptoms of being ill. Here’s hoping it’s just a scab and nothing more serious! Although as far as being pecked, she’s currently the only turkey amongst a flock of ducks.

Is there anything in her home she could have poked herself on? I'm don't think ducks can "peck" but I've never owned any so I'm not sure. I know they have toenails. Could one of them have flown up and poked her maybe? Idk. Seems unlikely.
