Oreo somehow got her toe nail ripped off in the back, it bled as you can imagine, and I've cleaned it, I've tried to get it to stop bleeding, I've put corn starch on it, still bleeds, I even tried the liquid bandage "New Skin", that didn't work, I thought about calling the vet and buying catory sticks to stop the bleeding, so I finally wrapped it up in band-aids, I think I now know why it keeps bleeding because her mate is riding her so much that his weight on her and her trying to balance him is rubbing the skin open more and more, I walked outside earlier and there was a huge puddle of blood under her, so inside we go again and I finally put a bunch of band-aids on and around her toe/leg, so far so good and wow what a litte, well BIG trooper she was. So right now she is inside eating frozen peas in a dish of water in the sun while her drake is looking in, she just started laying eggs as of yesterday, as long as I have a box inside where she can sleep and lay her eggs and she can see her mate outside, will she be ok to not be around him while her back toe mends? She doesn't seem to bothered by not having him next/on her, I just want her to heal and the more he mounts her the more tore up he will make her toe.
