Hello, I have a rooster who’s just over 6 months old. There are 24 ladies that stay with him. I went to check in on him yesterday afternoon and noticed his tail missing feathers and bleeding. I went and got some medication and anti bug for chickens and put it on. I also put some peck no more on there. I checked him again his afternoon and noticed the ladies pecking at him pulling feathers out. He was trying to run but they followed. I caught him and rinsed him off and applied the same two medicines again. He’s now in a smaller coop inside the coop isolated but can see his ladies. What caused this so fast? And how can I help him?? Here’s a picture of him.

Poor fella.
How big is their area? What do you feed them?
It could be they're too crowded, they don't have enough protein or your hens are jerks.
You can apply neosporin to injuries

Sorry guys I didn’t get a picture when I had him out earlier and I could only get this one earlier tonight. He’s got no more peck on him is why it’s purple. I’ve isolated him in a smaller mobile coop inside the big coop. The coop is a 35x40 space and they can also free roam during the day but have not been out in about a week since there’s been some wild dogs lately. But they all usually get along fine which is why it’s weird. I haven’t changed food at all, they all eat 18% chicken layer and standard food. They have two five gallon buckets with nipple waterers that I clean once a week. One bucket is pure water and the other is an electrolyte mix they’ve had for a while now.

How old are the ladies? No other roosters/cockerels?

He may have had a broken feather and they started picking at that if there was blood.
Chickens will pick at wounds, so it's good that you separated him out.

That's on his tail - is his oil gland ok?

You also mention putting anti-bug on him? Does he have lice or mites?

They are all the same age, I got them all in the same batch, all were supposed to be hens but he was a rooster. There is one other rooster. Same age, they are best buddies. The rooster that is injured in the dominant one. There is never any pecks or anything negative between them. I also looked the other rooster over and he has no marks at all. His oil gland seems to be fine but I will be sure to keep a close eye on it. What I meant by anti but was that since he’s bleeding it is so that flies or any other insects won’t be attracted and could start possible infection. No mites or lice. They usually have access to constant dust baths but I took them out so it doesn’t get in the wound. They also always have fresh bedding. I use a combination of pine shavings and chopped straw for that. It gets changed out weekly if not twice a week
