Yeah, isn't the eye worm one of the most disgusting things to happen to our poor chickens!
If she was at all bothered by any part of her body, i think i would know by now, so i cannot blame worms or visible trauma.
She seems to be adjusting pretty well. Two evenings now she has flown up to the top sleeping perch, can't get down, but, owell! I have a small portable dog fence enclosure, with a sun umbrella for a top, for her daytime safety. The roosters want to bring her in to their flock but she runs away, and right into something!
