Blind chicken wont open eye anymore-

Hi! Pictures will come soon, or tomorrow, i really don't know. To explain it immediately I can't see anything wrong with her but I should probably start with the situation. She's always been blind in one eye, I have no idea why it kind of just happened and she's been like that for probably her entire life. But today when I went into the coop, i see that shes walking around with her eye closed, which is odd. She closes her blind eye at times, but thats usually when I pick her up and try to get a look at it, she's a real struggle in that sense but she's never walked around like this before.

I obviously picked her up and pryed her eye open to see nothing unusual, it's still her normal blind eye... Nothing invasive inside, no mucus- no wetness, no scars or anything such in and around her eye. It's so odd, and I don't know if she'll get over this or not, but I feel like i need to post it here because you never know. Maybe it's the biggest sign for cancer or something in chickens!

I don't know, i just want help or advice

It's nearly impossible to take a picture while opening an eye with one hand, but im trying my best. In behaviour shes the same as ever

Do we think it looks like occular Mareks? I mean, it's not that big of a difference and her bad eye certainly isn't blue, and her pupil isn't all weird like that. Would still like input

Im by far no expert but, looking at the image, the pupil does seem 'off' a little bit…

her pupil has always been off in that eye, since she's blind in that, that's why im so worried about the fact it might be occular mareks. she's been like this for a little less than 2 years, and no one else has yet to be infected or at least shown to be

It could be cataracts, i guess?? But it's not really about why she's blind, more so what is going on now with her keeping her eye closed

I've looked into it, and i have seen that a blind hen may close her blind eye as she has no use for it anymore…could be that. I'd keep an eye on her for now, but I don’t think its an infection or injury

It could be a long term eye injury from a peck or infection, even getting something stuck, or ammonia fumes. The picture is not very clear.

Her eye is open again! I don't get her pupils at all, I'm at a lost. But I guess it'll just let her be unless she starts showing sign of injury and or sickness.

The eye could be a sign of ocular Mareks, but I still think it could be blindness caused by an eye injury. Just wondering what is the red thing inside her beak?
