seriously made my heart warm a little bit!Well I did a supervised introduction with my flock today and they loved him! The geese were a little nibbley but one of my rouen girls took right to him and he has been fallowing her all day. I will seperate him when I am not there for a while but I am hopeful that all will work out! Thank you everybody, I look forward to giving Claude a full life here!
Hi, only just seen your post. It’s an awful long time ago you had Claude, how did it go? I’ve got a blind mandarin duck and he knows where everything is, it’s amazing. But he gets picked in by my other two sadly.I was at our local feed store this morning and I had to ask about this confused looking boy in the pen with broiler chickens. The owner told me he was completely blind and was most likely going to hitch a ride on the slaughter truck. She told me I could have him for free if my intent was to give him a good home. I couldn't resist so I took him home this morning and he has been named Claude. Does anybody out there have experience with blind poultry? He eats and drinks as soon as he learns where the food is. I am nervous to introduce him to the rest of the flock however......
