I had a Raccoon massacre in my coop last week, killed my 2 fav hens and left one injured.
The injury seems to be to her eyes, one is open and looks uninjured, the other was closed until today. The hen couldn't drink on her own for 5 days, had to feed her worms and water by syringe until yesterday. Now she looks for the ground, pecks and follows the sound of food dropping but can't seem to find it unless I put her in front of the feeder. She can navigate my yard and find the water but seems to be mostly blind.
Anyone out there have any experience with injuries such as this? I'm thinking she can adapt to being blind but I've never had a special needs chicken!
