I have a baby gosling who loves to jump out of people's hands and I'm afraid he's injured himself this time. I just noticed this thing-it is hot and feels like a blister. It is swollen on the top and bottom. Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do for him tonight? He's gone to sleep after I noticed it, but he seemed to be favoring it. (I also putt this on the goose section, but thought it might be a general webbed foot thing)

Poor little guy! No goose experience here, but my gut says he probably has a minor injury that will heal with time. Can you tell if the fluid is just like a regular blister or more of a blood blister? It’s hard to tell with the dark feet. I bet a warm epsom salt foot bath would be nice for him in the morning. I hope someone else can help you. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, Micstra.
For anyone else who has this problem:
The vet said it was a granuloma, probably caused by a tiny puncture wound. (Basically an abscess caused by infection) It's not normally a good idea to lance them, they are usually treated with antibiotics. However, since he's still young, she's worried about what that would do to his system. I'm on monitor duty. Leave it alone (especially since it's not bugging him) and it should go down on its own. Contact the vet again if it grows.
