Now I live in the balmy mediterranean climate where it's 19 degrees at 7:35pm.

Well, here in B"ham upper WA we had 65 mph gusts and sustained winds @ 45 mph With the degrees @ maybe 7* They said we were well into the MINUSES.
Tonight is a different story 11* and hardly any wind. Thank you God. I spent my day papering the girls with Bag Balm messages and warm water cocktails!!!

Hey, I'm up here in mild 'ol Forks, and what'd I get?


- Cracked open, frozen eggs in the COOP of all places.

- 4 Dead chicks due to piling up for warmth

- 10 hours without power - Overnight

- A whole incubator's wasted of eggs because of the power outage

- 3 inches of snow, but temps down to 23 degrees and winds up to 20 mph.

- All sources and containers of water completely frozen, including piping

- 2 hours spent to use a torch on our piping to thaw it out and have water again

A mom can only hope!! He's in his 40s so.... For those of you who missed this the police on the west side of Wa. are using aircraft with thermal heat sensors to find people in their cars!

This morning dense freezing fog and totally frozen lock on coop!
