bloated duck

Hello again. So glad you got to the bottom of things. I give my duck and bird gatoraide (which is filled with electrolites) every now and then when they need it. Just give in small amounts. I have bathed my duck in Epson salt. In fact, it works great for treating bumblefoot. I use about a couple of capfuls in her bath. One thing I do is limit the time of the bath though because she likes to drink the water while she is bathing. Epson salt is a great for sanitation. So sorry to hear that you have to sell some of your babies. It is hard and Margaret is going to be sad. Good luck to you and hope everything works out well.

Ah ok i got a water soluble vitamin, mineral and amino acid supplement for birds. Would that be alright? I had it in his water for most of the day yesterday. Should i have it in his water all the time while he is sick? Bob looks a little bit better today he is standing and walking around and preening more than yesterday.but he is still not well

. He hasn't had a bath in 2 or 3 days i have tried to put him in my bath tub with nice warm water but he jumps out. Marge is doing good though she is almost back to her normal self.

I might be able to get ducks for my bday in May n I'm just wondering what kind I should get
-needs to be a good egg layer
- pretty
- quiet
Are girls or boys nicer? Whatever one is than that one
- not so messy my mom will get mad
Any suggestion is appreciated thanks

Bob may have had a bigger load of cocci, I'd keep them in his water till he is 100% Happy to hear Marge is doing so much better.

All ducks are messy lol. I think muscovy ducks are the best, they are great layers i get more eggs than i can eat and they are quiet they don't quack unless they are scared. I think that drakes are nicer. I have raised a lot of ducks and the females all run away from me but the drakes let me pat them. If you do get a drake you will need 2 or 3 females as well. I raised my drake bob on his own and he became sexually frustrated so i got him some gfs and he was much happier.

Alright cool and yeah the vet said it was really bad. He let me look at bobs poop under a microscope and i could see heaps of the cocci.

yep he is getting a lot better now. If he is walking around more later on i'm going to take him outside to be in the sun for a while
