Bloated hen

s with legs spread wide because the has a “swollen “ underbelly. It is not her vent. We checked that today and her vent looks good but she does have significant swelling/ bloating going on. She’s double the size of her coop mate
 
It sounds like she has ascites. This is not a disease but a symptom of a greater problem causing her liver to malfunction and fluid to build up in her abdominal cavity. Usually it's a terminal reproductive infection or cancer that's behind it. When you see this, it's a sign her days are numbered.

Ascites can be relieved temporarily by draining the fluid. You can try to do this yourself or have a vet do it, but it's only for making the hen more comfortable for a few weeks or months. It's not a cure.
