Ok. She is eating very well won't drink though. She took the calcium D3 it is 600 mgsShe does sound like she's egg bound. Let the calcium work, but be sure the calcium was at least 600mg.

I lubed up a finger on my glove and stuck it in her vent then gently push on her abdomen. I didn't feel an egg in her. She is eating a lot now (even jumped up at me filling the food dish) so I am at a loss as to why she is standing this wayFeel the abdomen. Does it feel more like fat (solid) or fluid (water balloon)? Is the swelling predominantly in front of and between the legs or most in the back of the legs and under the vent?
The fluid coming from her vent is one clue she
s egg bound. Push your hand against her vent. Does it make her squat to do so?
Keep her hydrated and calm. It's all pointing to egg binding.
Thank you, I have already done all of that. I put my finger into her vent and did not feel an egg. Thanks for the prayers for her.Put her in a warm bath with Epsom salts. Let her sit for 20 minutes, then take her out and lubricate the vent area with olive oil. Give her a calcium pill and try to message the egg out of her. She could die within 42 hours of being egg bound, and who knows how long she has been that way. I will say prayers to Jesus for her!![]()
Ok, I will see how she is in the morning. This chicken tending is for the birds! LolIt doesn't always have to be an egg that obstructs the oviduct. It cab be a bit of tissue sloughing off the walls that gets hung up. She may have passed it and it wasn't real noticeable.
You are more than welcome. Faith in prayer is more powerful then many think. My dad found a dead, lifeless bird one time. He prayed for it with faith, and as soon as he said amen, the bird was beautiful and flew off strong and happy. God is amazing!Thank you, I have already done all of that. I put my finger into her vent and did not feel an egg. Thanks for the prayers for her.
She is not, unfortunately. She has ascitesHow is the leghorn??? I hope she is doing good.
