Just picked up 5 new chickens, not sure of age but they’re probably 8-10 week old silkies. I have isolated the one with blood. This is what the blood looks like. It looks like a blood clot too. Can someone help me/give me tips on what to do? Another chicken had green poop as well… again, I just bought them today. I don’t think I’ll be buying chickens from that place again. I’ve never had this issue before

Yikes. I am thinking coccidiosis which is an easy fix but you need to get them on corid asap. If someone else has any ideas I'm open to them because that is an awful lot of blood
That’s what I thought too. And that’s not even all the blood, I cleaned out the other blood a couple hours ago. Also, worried because she seems a little old to get coccidiosis? But thank you for the reply 👍🏼

I've had grown hens get it when I brought in new birds. They all have it all the time but being exposed to a new strain they aren't resistant to can cause overgrowth. I actually had a full grown hen die of it because she wasn't in the best of health anyway.

Oh my goodness, I didn’t know full growns could get it too. Sorry to hear that. I just ordered some Corid hoping it comes asap tomorrow.

If you don't see improvement within a few days definitely post again. I am no expert but I've had my share of problems with cocci so I'm pretty proactive about it. The good news is the corid can't hurt. If you get the powder do 2 tsp per gallon for 7 days then lower the dose and keep them on it another week. Just treat the whole flock.

Are all the vents clean, no injuries?

I would treat with the Corid asap.

Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid is 1 1/2 tsp per gallon of water for 5-7 days.
The mixed water should be the only thing the chicks are drinking. Do not add any extra supplements or vitamins that contain B1(Thiamine) to food/water during the course of treatment.

If the poop does not improve in a couple of days, then you may need to use Toltrazuril or a sulfa antibiotic to treat the chicks.
