Blood coming from mouth

Hi. My rooster attacked me a few minutes ago... In self defense I kicked him. It was pretty hard, too. He flew across the coop and hit the ground pretty hard. He stopped attacking, but I see blood inside his beak.... He's walking around fine, making all his chicken noises, etc. will he be ok??? Could he have just bit his tongue??? I'm worried

Never mind guys. I went out and re-checked him. Got re-attacked, but finally tackled him and checked out his mouth. He bit his tongue like I thought. No more bleeding, but he's got a little chunk out of his tongue.
