Blood Coming Out Of The Egg

Let the chick push itself out of the shell and make sure at this point you humidity is up..when they help themselves out of the egg, they seem to do better. I had this happen one of the other chicks rolled a smaller egg into a bowl with sponges and cracked it open, it had pipped but was resting and same thing quite a bit of blood..that was the only time that ever happened to me..I didnt panic and let it alone for several hours, then helped pull back membrane and shell but put it back in..about 5 hours later the chick came out..gave a bit of sugar water due to blood loss. nut just waiting helped a lot so it could finish absorbing blood and yolk..it was a bit scarey because all of the others had hatched and that one was still kicking around..must have been in a cooler spot in incubator,,

At this point, I imagine the bleeding has stopped. As long as your humidity is okay, the chick should be able to hatch on its own. At this point, still breathing and vocalizing, shouldn't be long before the yolk and veins are drawn in.

It's been 12 hours since the egg was opened too early... The chx is still sitting in the bottom portion if the shell & peeping & breathing fine (seems to be)! I think it might just live : )

The chick survived & has beautiful leg & foot feathering.. Thank you god!!!​

I just had to hatch 20 biddies from my incubator myself. It took ALL day but some were dying in the shell. Not sure what went wrong this time but it was the bloodiest hatching I've ever seen. lol Needless to say all are alive and thriving. When I hatched them I just left the bottom of shell attached for a little bit longer and by morning they dried up and were running around. If you go to hatching it make sure not to tug on the main vein! It will kill them instantly. Good luck!
