My three 9 week olds free range all day in my garden with my other chickens & sleep in a separate coop at night.
This morning when I cleaned their coop I found a poop with red blood in it. This also happened a couple of weeks
ago, just the one time, I kept a close eye on them & decided as they were so well it must be a one-off.
All three youngsters are really healthy, active and eating well, I'm reluctant to confine them for a week without good
reason. My adult hens have had worms in their poop & I have just started treating them for this, could worms
cause this symptom in a young chook? Is there anything else that could cause it?
I have read up quite a bit about coccidiosis & I would presume that by the time their gut started to bleed they would
be quite ill, or at the least off their food. Am I right? Or could it only be cocci?
