I have 3 chicks ranging from 5-7 weeks old. They have been on non medicated chick starter. I noticed this red in one of their stools today. Not sure if it is blood or not. They all seem healthy and eating and drinking well. I change their water at least once daily. Thoughts? What treatment is needed if it is blood? Thanks for any and all advice!

Upon closer inspection I think it is something they ate. I will put some paper towel down in their space to keep a closer eye though. Thanks for the advice!

Let us know what you find out.
What did they eat that made it look red?

I haven’t seen anything further. I’ve been putting them outside on warm days and there were pink buds on the trees. I think one of them must have ate one.
