I have 8 hens who have a nice big coop and a 1\2 acre of free ranging area - they are 9 months old and a few of them just starting laying within the past several days. Today I went to clean and collect eggs and I noticed blood on the ramp inside that goes to the laying boxes and drops on one of the roosting bars near the ramp, and they were pretty large droplets of blood. All the hens seem normal, no blood on any of them and no visible injuries on their feet or bodies. Taking them to the vet isn't an option because we can't afford to right now.

No, not in their poop and I did check them out and all seem fine.

Toe or comb injury, likely will heal up on it's own.
Alarming to find blood in the coop, have here many times, but it's usually nothing to worry about.

Thank you!

Best way to check is touching every part of the chicken feeling for a crust hard dry or wet blood spot if there are any.
