I collect my eggs multiple times a day so there is no way this way an old egg, but two recently have been incredibly bloody inside when cracked open. YUCK! Any ideas on what might be causing this??? Thanks!

The hen laying these eggs has an 'injury' in her reproductive tract, and blood is enclosed in the egg as it is formed. Such incidents generally heal on their own and she should start laying normally in the future. This is one of the reasons why commercial eggs are always candled prior to sale.

Oh, good to know. I'll never be able to figure out who's doing it since I have 75 hens! None of my customers have said anything, but both my daughter and I got one.
