I did a search on this forum for previous post and see that blood ON the egg shell can be normal.
My chickens have been laying since August. Just this week we have started getting one egg every day with blood on the shell.
So is it still "normal"?

Is it a streak from one end to the other? It can be a sign of mites (or is it lice) making irritation at the vent opening. Check for mites or lice. The vent should be very clean looking, but with mites there will be dirty or little black "scab" or clumps of white or grayish eggs (looks like sand attached to base of feathers) on vent area. This can look like poop, but it's lice.

Thank you for your reply and I am sorry for the delay.
I wouldn't describe it as a streak from one end to the other. More of a smear, all the way around the egg.
I haven't pulled a "close" inspection of my hens but I've looked to see if I see anything and nothing. I figured they are all white so it should be easy to spot. Right?
