Went into the coop this morning to collect eggs and noticed one covered in wood shavings and blood but inside looks fine. Is this normal? What should/can I do?

Was it a big egg? Also, was your girl a pullet?

It isn't that uncommon usually it means she had some difficulty delivering it. Bless her heart.

I agree. I got a first egg from an EE the other day that was pretty blood streaked. I just made sure there wasn't copious amounts of blood around her vent. She's fine.
The vent has to stretch a bit for those first eggs. That's perfectly natural
