blood on eggs - read more

i went to gather the eggs the other day and found blood on one of the eggs. i waited and narrowed down that millie, my brabanter hen, had a problem. (i don't mean to be crass) her butt seems to have popped out of her vent. it is portruding about 3/4 inch. i put on latex gloves and pushed it back in, but it didn't work. any suggestiions? thanks for any help. i really like millie (favorite hen)

Search the forum for "prolapsed vent" or "vent prolapse". This sounds like what might be happening. Good luck, and keep us updated!
