Hey, all you cool chicks and roos out there!

I’m new to hatching eggs and unfortunately, I started on expert mode. 🤦‍♀️ I bought shipped eggs.

I have read about a blood ring being a embryo dying in development but my chick is still kickin’

what are your thoughts?

Are you incubating this egg vertically? Can you shine your light through the air cell end? How many days along is this egg?

Yes, the egg is vertically and this is end of day 7. I can try to shine it through the air cell end tomorrow morning and post it.
it doesn't look quite developed enough to be a day 7 egg, so I would check it again from the top and see if you can see any actual veins.

Sometimes you'll see the ring starting to form before the egg has quit if you candle it at the right time, but normally when you see the blood ring you will not see any veins. Candling from the bottom doesn't give the bet view and so this could be the veins spreading out across the egg when incubated vertically they can look like that, but, I would expect to see a little bit more of an embryo at day 7, even from the bottom.

Hmm, I will try the candling at the top and get back to you tomorrow, if thats okay. Idk if it helps or not but the egg is a Ayam Cemani

At day 7 the embryo would have much more development and more, larger veins throughout the egg. What do you mean you can see it moving? In your video I only see it moving when you move the egg.
It was like little heart beat movement. I thought I was seeing things so I set it down on another candler where I wasnt holding it and got a second opinion, and yep, movement
