One of my eggs is moving a lot I don't see any of the other ones moving that much but I'm only on day 16 what should I do with the egg that is moving? Should I increase the humidity just for that egg in case it is trying to hatch early?
 
day 16 is awful early , any chance the days were miscounted ? You dont have to increase humidity until one does a external pip. its better if you do on day 18 but in a case like this i would try and wait at least one more day.

No not extra large eggs, I think it's the camera angle and I do all my pics with the iPad which always makes things look bigger than they are. The Ginny chicks are bigger than the polish though.

I agree with granny don't do your humidity untill day 18 they may still need to lose a little more moisture over the last 2 days. Even at day 16 they can be moving into position for hatch. Day 16 they should be very developed so the egg quite full any movement from the chick and the egg will move.

@granny hatchet Hows things all good I hope? The last three chicks have made it and are eating and drinking. They are still a little wobbly and one still has a bit of dried cord dangling out that has not dropped off yet so just waiting for that and they are off out to the shed.

I got a fairy egg yesterday out the nest box, it's tiny and very weird!! Have you had them before? Do you think there is something wrong with the hen? I've never had one before and from what I read it can be from an early layer but mine have been laying since November. We did have thunder, lightening and hail stones yesterday so not sure if that could have been a shock for one of them. The weather was awfull you really would not think it's May :rant

morning, I can tell you it dont have anything to do with the storm. takes a day for the egg to form. since they have been laying for a while my guess would be she is getting ready to stop laying for a while. I call them wind eggs and a ton of people call them fart eggs. I have a small collection of them. I blow them out and paint them. I have a small nest in the house with a bird house and fake bird so i put them in the nest. LOL The kids broke a few. Way back in time they were called cock eggs because farmers believed them to be laid by roosters. they had no yolk adding to the belief.
 
I hope she is not going to stop laying, I only got 2 eggs from them today. So maybe? We had wind very gusty and rain the day prior to that and the road sweeper making a real racket!! They did fly up into the netting that day. The other half wants to crack it open to see inside but I want to keep it cos it's cute.

Bet the nest bird and fairy eggs look good. If I were a kid too I would want to mess with them too :smack
We were always getting told off when we're kids for touching things we shouldn't at grandmas house!! She had fancy ornaments and the like, things that kids just have to touch!!
 
you can keep it and see inside, blow it out. i use a diabetic needle. poke a hole on both ends. draw some out from one end and add that much water to the other end . the hen is probably just taking a break. any signs of broody? I actually had a polish go broody on me today. first time ever. Someone bought me a yrs. golden feather membership !!!! wont tell me who though. LOL I know the ads are gone , not sure what else if anything that does but sooo easier to post.

You should see a new section only visible to GFM. In that section there is thread to change your user title. Just post what you would like and it should get changed/added. You can change it every 3 months if you want too.
