you didnt quarantine ? he is pretty neet looking. rooster is dominate so I would imagine they may have a much lighter gold sheen to them. I would give it a try . or since he is splash you may end up with more black then you would want.

Yes did quarantine him but only about week or so in a coop and run next to the girls. He was very stressed he had never lived outside in fresh air was kept in garage where I got him from. He wasn't showing any signs of illness looked healthy good eyes no poopy butt red clean wattles so put him in with them. Can't wait to see the colours of them.

Who would think eggs could give you so much worry. I'm totally the same when eggs are hatching I get nothing done cos I'm too busy watching the incubator. I even make the other half watch and telephone me with updates if I do have to go out. I have to leave him on chick watch He pretends not to be interested but I know secretly he can't resist watching the eggs. He even said with the last hatch " wish they would hurry up, I'm getting nothing done" He works from home so the lure of chicks hatching is far more exciting than working.
You could maybe do with one of those stress balls to keep squeezing and save what you have left of nails/finger ends!!

I do the same thing. I tried to get him to watch yesterday and he said he didint want to he had seen enough of them hatch then when he thought i couldnt see him he was in there watching. LOL

That is so true!! I've caught mine doing just the same when he thinks I'm not looking. Men are funny things are they not Why they can't just say they enjoy watching them hatch I will never know

same reason he wont cook. he thinks whats at the end of a chickens head will fall off. I have a hint on the polish and i dont like it. I see black.

that color was no where in this mix that i was thinking of. just a little hole so far.
