think the lighter ones might be cream bar dad? hens could be buff orph, alstrop, or ee oh, and a rir. they all lay brown. I just checked on the swedish, he is looking better as far as eye is down and open a little but he sounds like crap and has lost weight. and very friendly . I put him in my lap to cut the feathers around his open eye and he didnt care then he stuck his head in my pit and snuggled right down like a baby. LOL I am guessing chickens cant smell? what is the best to feed for some quick weight ?

I have a three year old pair of a size mottled serama mated since day one she sets on her eggs when she get four eggs religiously,four chicks come bouncing out 19 days later like clock work.i have probably hatched 50 chicks over the years from a 7 ounce hen with a 10 ounce rooster.serama are not that hard folks I have to eat eggs here or be overrun with serama babies,and most of them layed and hatched by my smaller birds.i don't incubate because all that candling and temp fluctuation is most definitely very harmful to the chick and obviously even harder on granny! lol,.i have never seen a bloody butt on a hen hatched chick.and I usually take them from the mother to the brooder unless papa is a good father.

Bobby, I am going to leave the eggs she lays with her when she starts laying again. I am not even going to glance that way. LOL . you are correct in saying it is way harder on me. this woman dont give up !! I know something is wrong and thats as far as i can go with this. I believe every word you say. it is gospel to me. You have the most beautiful seramas I have seen and they didnt get that way by accident. They didnt like the candling for sure and that may be what did them in. Happy new year to all !!!!

Friend of mine just hatched 8 of 8 tiny serama eggs under the mama. smaller then mine by looking at the chicks. lesson of the day. Size dont matter. my tiny lightweight eggs were not why they didnt hatch.

yes, they did ! I thought i told it . sorry. they went in today. came yesterday. as far as i can tell air sac looks ok but i havent seen on in person before. just pictures of them. unplugged the turner for a day or 2. no cracks in them and they were wrapped really well. I guess 5 days will let us know. the other eggs that i couldnt hatch, all i can say for 100% certainty , out of all the different things mentioned is that they didnt like that candling on day 12. they would do a bit of flipping in there when i looked. breeder says the mama is the best to hatch seramas with. As far as the polish mix, I have no clue what that thing is. wing feathers are coming in black as far as i can see. and the primary feathers are much longer then the rest. I have 4 more of those and one brown egg coming soon. I think they are on day 16. candled last night and they look good, on track. have you broke down yet and pulled your incubator out ?

Glad they arrived ok for you unwrapping shipped eggs can be nerve wracking!! Will be interested to see what your next lot of polish mixes turn out like imagine if they look different again to the one you have now that would be brain teaser!!

No I'm behaving myself it's still away although I may get it out in a couple of weeks to test some eggs. I've just started researching packaging and postal costs for shipping eggs. I'm going to start selling in the spring and want to make sure I've got it all right before I start advertising. Have found some polystyrene boxes for shipping at a reasonable price on the interwebber so need to get some order. Here is a pic

I'm not sure how popular they will be as they will be from mixed hens so not true colours. But when I do a test batch we will see. Quite looking forward to it as its the unknown

thats nice looking. I would buy mixed polish any day but not sure about eggs. I have never "bought" them before and I need to see they are going to do good. Can you ship here? nippa certified? I dont know if it would pay you enough or not. you have the beautiful polish though.
