blood ring or blind

Ooh excellent! One must be candy corn then. I've got two groups of polish they are 4 weeks apart in age and started at 6 months laying. I think I've got 5 laying now unless some new ones have started and the otheres not laying everyday. The 4 week younger ones are a bit of a pain. When one lays there is right caffuffle then they go in the nest box and scrat the egg about sometimes you have to hunt for it in the straw!! This is not good for incubating them as with the mucky feet the eggs are dirty. I'm hoping as they get a bit older they leave the eggs alone!

my polish does that too sometimes to the point of knocking it out of the nest then dont even lay ! there must be something wrong with the ones i have if your started at 6 months. that is a long time too but a yr.?

I don't think there is anything wrong with yours they are notorious for being sporadical layers. Some not starting for a year can be normal.

I have broken and got the incubator out :smack got it on now warming up and settling. Going to set some eggs later. Not sure how many got 13 at the minute so if they lay anymore today they can go in too. Will mark them to see if the fresh laid ones do any good. It feels just as exciting as my first ever time incubating because I don't know what the out come will be. Will post some pics of when I set the later.

LOL !!!! Am i a bad influence ? hahahaa cant wait to see what comes out of them

Yes granny you are :gig

No I'm only joking LOL You are an enabler not bad influence. I've been tempted since they started laying but have managed a few weeks of waiting so have been reasonably well behaved and this my reward!! Plus the other half secretly can't wait to see what they will be like. He's a big softy really. Christmas and new year are out of the way now so they can have my full attention.
