blood ring or blind

they are darling. congrats on a great hatch !! Is that a white one or will it be buff (chamois) I think you call it? blues and blacks and white ?

I got a bit of good news. a member here named Jessshan is going to make me an incubator !! how awesome is that? his will be better then tsc. You should go to his home page and look at the wooden one he made. it is a piece of furniture i would keep in my house even if it wasnt a bator. He needs a big thumbs up for his generosity . he is also the one that sent me my last serama eggs.

That's great news granny :thumbsup I hope you have much better luck with it and some great hatch rates. How nice of him to make you one.

The last egg has died just moved the other four to the brooder and candle it. The air sac had collapsed and veins gone no movement. Think it was one of those that were not moving at lockdown. As for the colours that's still a guessing game! Think the buff/chamois colour will be like the chamois I have. One maybe two look like silver lace. One gold lace. The ones that look black/blue I'm not sure on now. They look like poppet did when he hatched and he was blue. But they have like black on their backs. They are all from the blue splash roo girls. And there are two that look the White side of grey. I'm just not sure :idunno

Will get some individual pics tomorrow for your perusal :highfive:

Hope you are able to get another incubator so that things are not erratic for you any more granny

Think my hatch is complete now. 13 have hatched. 9 in the brooder and 4 still in the incubator fluffing up. Last egg showing no signs of action.

Those are gorgeous! I wish I could get that many. This is my first winter with Polish. Will they start laying more consistently when the days get longer? I have gotten 4 eggs from 6 hens in two weeks

Thankyou! Yes they should pick up in the laying department when the days start getting longer. Polish can be quite sporadical layers any way and is something that really depends on the individual bird too. Some days I'm getting 5 eggs others 1-2 eggs. A good layer feed plenty of grit and i also have them on a vitamin water supplement 5/7 days a week because polish don't absorb vitamins and minerals as well as other breeds from their feed.

computer has a snail in it somewhere. 15 min. to get here but i didnt give up ! lol however , i did forget what i wanted to say so Good morning

LOL you are funny granny!! How are things today? Good I hope?
I've been naughty and done a quick turn around of the incubator :hide Gave it a good clean today and have just turned it back to get back up to temp. Going to set 20 eggs when it's settled because the eggs from the blue splash girls have been a bit sporadicle with the fertility. Some have been fertile some not. I'm just not sure if some of them are from the girls who have just started laying and so they have not got their laying machines working right yet. I'm expecting a few clears from these. Plus with those pesky younger ones playing with the eggs after they lay some are just beyond going in the incubator as they are too dirty. Have re wood chipped the runs in the hope they will have cleaner feet!! There fore cleaner eggs.

i have slept half the day away. I hope each and every one hatch for you. then i will giggle as you look for places to stick them.
