blood ring or blind

They are taking there time to get to you granny!

First chick just hatched :celebrate It was the third egg to pip that's just popped out. Looks like a gold lace. The first egg to pip has been about 12 hours now, not making any progress.
The house sounds better now with some cheeping going on!! Has been very quiet since i moved the others out to the garage.

I'm being impatient :smack

Have scuppered the two wcb hens and put netting over the top of the new run!! They were not very happy about not being able to fly over and were squawking very loudly!! They sound like seagulls, make a right racket they do!!

Have sold four chicks so down to nine out in the garage now. Ooh room for more now!!

Scuppered = stop them in their tracks!! Of course 2 = 4 I think that sounds great. Already started thinking about putting another pen up in a different part of the garden! And it wasn't my idea it was the other halfs. I think he is coming round to the idea of lots of chickens. They are so much cleaner on the paving slabs and wood chip on top of them. No mud to scratch down to!!

hahaa, Love the idea of paving stones but do you have to use something on top? how deep will it be? If it was all cement it could be hosed down easy . too cold maybe? spill it girlfriend !!

Just so they have something to scratch about in really, stops the boredom I suppose and the fact that I'm too soft with them!! Have got it about 4 inches deep and i have big pile of it out on the drive that could really do with getting used up. If it does get mucky in the run I can shovel it out and put fresh in.

ahh, I am disabled. I was kinda forced into the deep litter method. I hire someone to clean the coop with wooden floor but therun just keeps building up. which is ok because the yard was/is low there and water stands so one day it will run off and they wont be in mud. I add tons of shavings, dirt and stall refresh.
