Blood Rings? **Do they have to go all the way around the egg?**

I am aware that blood rings=no chick, but when I candled this morning I saw that one egg had a blood ring with a dark blob toward the fat side of the egg, as if an embryo was there. Could it just be a blood spot? I don't know, but now I'm afraid to remove it-I don't want to kill anything growing.

Also, can the bacteria from one bad egg travel to another? I hope not.

I just noticed another egg with what looks like 3/4 of a blood ring. Does that count? Or is it something else?

If you don't see bright, red veins and it there is a blood ring and a blob, it's dead. I've had this happen a ton of times...

I'm on day 9. I opened one with a blood ring just a while ago and it kind of exploded, so I don't think there was anything in it.

None of them smelled though.

at least it wasn't smelly...I think that I have a bad duck egg in mine, I better go and get it out, thanks for the reminder. I know that if the duck egg opened it would be really smelly. Can you tell that I have had that happen before
