Blood specks splashed in coop

I would check their combs...that is what happened to mine. I saw a few drops of blood here and there and then looked at their feeder and it looked like blood spray everywhere. I then watched them eat and discovered it was exactly where their combs would hit. Ta-da....that was it. One of my girls had a very bloody comb. I applied pressure a couple of times and that seemed to take care of it. I am going to put some vasoline on them when I get home and hopefully that will help.

Just a couple weeks ago I had the same thing blood all over the roost.. checked everyone out and found one of my little hens had some how cut off the end of her nail, I liked to never got it to stop bleeding and couldn't find the quick stop. that makes for lots of blood when they cut off a nail.
If it ever happens again Cornstarch also will work.
