bloody chick. help!

most of our eggs are hatching well, but we had one hatch that was bloody and has something pink sticking out of it's rear. I assume this is bad. should I see how he does or should i put him out of his misery now?

See how she does. If its not a whole lot of blood and doesn't look like guts hanging out, it may be fine. I had a bloody one this morning and she's absolutely fine now.

thanks. will see how he does. it does look a bit like intestine or something. But, he isn't acting different than the other chicks

I had two of those, as well. I kept an eye on them but they are just fine if they don't bleed too much.

Sometimes the membrane attached at the bloody spot can look scary like intestines or something. If its acting just like the rest, it will most likely be fine. I had one that was bleeding a lot, and it never acted normal and died pretty quickly.

If it were intestines, it would look pretty scary. I've seen that before and its not nice. Hopefully its just still some membranous stuff and that's all.

It can be the "umbilical" stump. In some of them it can be more obvious or bloody, but its all normal.
