Bloody colored butt

It's hard and scabby like.
He/she took a long time to dry too.

I saw the bloody butt on the quail I hatched but it was just on the butt not on the stomach as well.

I'm gonna try and load a picture (just for practice) it's not very good. I should've had a flashlight on the bird itself so you could see the blood better. But you can see how close the second lesion is to the butt.

That looks like a dried up rough navel to me. As long as your peep is running aroud happy it should dry up all the way and fall off in a few weeks.

It seems to be doing fine. It's very scared of me so I had a hard time making sure it was eating and drinking. So far, so good.
