bloody egg and bloody poop?

A week or so ago, one of our hens laid an egg and the shell was smeared with blood. I'm not 100% sure which bird it is, but I'm reasonably sure it was Jeep.

Today, one of the girls was pooping blood. I wasn't home but the kids told me it's Jeep. She's a 5 or 6 yo Buff Orpington; years ago I purchased her from a feed store, and know that store buys chicks that are vaccinated.

Although I've kept chickens for 8 years or so, I've never had these problems. We don't have a vet that will treat chickens.

We keep a clean coop and roost box. The hens free range throughout the day, and have access to our yard and garden. I changed the flooring of the coop to sand a couple of years ago, and last week changed the litter in the roost box to sand as well.

Any ideas what is going on with our hen? And should we eat the eggs from her, or from any of them until we know what is going on?

Thanks!

What's the roost box? Is that the nest box? If you have sand in the nest box I would change that to shavings or straw or maybe even a nest pad. I never heard of using sand. If your hens vent, which tends to poke out a bit when laying, is coming in contact with sand when laying they egg...poor girl. Sand up your butt has to be irritating.
Only other thing I can think of is coccidiosis. Of course you wouldn't think a hen that old would have a problem with coccidiosis, but I guess it can be possible.
