I have hens laying eggs that won't fit into jumbo boxes and are covered in blood. They are 9 months old so I figured first laying. Went out tonight to put the girls into the coop and found a dead hen with a very large vent. Can the eggs be killing the hens? No blood in the coop or on her. Attach11283_20201228_165850.jpg

Sorry for your loss! That must have been a shocker to find your pullet dead.
It's possible if it gets stuck and she can't pass it.
Was her vent damaged in any way?

Unfortunately my experience is when I start getting double Yorker eggs, I within a month will have a dead hen.
The extra large eggs lead to egg binding or the hen getting egg bound.
9 months is pretty young for this .
Mine have laid regular eggs for a couple years before hand.
i am curious what breed your hens are?

Sorry for your loss
