Bloody Eggs With Mucus

Chances are they are all carrying it anyway, whether they are showing symptoms or not.
This is very true!!! It saddens me to see them sick! They are all back together tonight and seem to be doing fine. We live in Florida and the weather here has been so bad. It's been raining, cold and very windy. I am sure this has a lot to do with their issues. Not to mention the pollen. We just got them 2 months ago and being in a new environment and the weather we just have to keep an eye on them and ope for the best. Thanks to everyone for the advise and support!!!

We have 7 birds total. We have been dealing with very stressful breathing, bubbly eyes ect. I only medicate them with Tylan when I know they are in trouble. 3-5 days depending. I’ve been using nutri-drench in their water to give them a little extra goodness the past week as well. I soerate them Bc the second I do not we spread the funk and start all over. Honestly it seems to work best and when they go back to the coop after a day or so everyone gets along just fine. I only keep them out of the coop during the running nose, coughing sneezing phase and then get them back in the coop ASAP.

Coughing, sneezing, bubbly eyes sounds like Mycoplasma, but without testing, it would be hard to know. Your state lab https://www.freshfromflorida.com/Di...on-Animal-Disease-Diagnostic-Laboratory-BADDL

What dosage of Tylan are you using?
If they get better with treatment, then seem to relapse, you may also want to see if there is something environmental that is exacerbating the illness. Respiratory diseases are often triggered by stress, so keeping a routine is a good idea. Plenty of ventilation, keeping dust down and droppings cleaned up (ammonia) may also help too. If they are staying cooped up because of wind/rain, try providing them with wind protection and a covered area so they do get some fresh air.

This is my first time owning chickens so it’s been a learning curve to say the least. We have tylan 50. I only treat with meds when they are very very sick. We have 2 birds sneezing but no other signs of illness so just lots of love given.
We have an open coop concept but they have lots of space to get away from bad weather conditions and great ventilation. I took aarts advise and gave them some distractions to play on. They all seem very happy in the home. They come to me, jump in my lap ect. I’ve also started allowing them to free range in the afternoons under supervision which they love!!
I clean their coop at least 2-3 times a week. Always giving them new clean bedding and raking out the floor getting rid of droppings.
I think in my case it’s just my inexperience and lack of knowledge. I’m giving it all I’ve got as I adore these babies! Couldn’t do it without everyone’s feedback!

This is very nice:)

We all learn something new everyday!
You have been doing well taking care of them - you are correct in only treating the sickest birds with symptoms. Tylan50 is good in treating secondary infections due to respiratory illness, so you are right on target there too.

I hope your birds continue to recover!

Such nice words!! Thank you!!

These our our first chickens ever. We got 7 total all at the same time. Purpose of getting them was to love and get fresh eggs. Never will they be Eatten.. the birds that is.
They came a very loving farm but they have hundreds of chickens that all free range so I’m sure they came to us with some issues already. We are getting through these challenges just a learning curve
