Bloody Eggs

I have about 15 hens, all heavy breeds. They came in March 2009 at one-day old. They just started molting a little while ago. About a week or two ago i started getting a lot of bloody eggs, before i would just get like on here or there. Does it have to do with molting? Is it normal? Thanks!

Is it a blood smear? Those are normal...now if it is full of blood that is a different story...

The blood is on the OUTSIDE, on the shell.

That happens sometimes on new layers or once the egg size changes. The hen should adjust,but if you feed black oil sunflower seeds,it should stop.

Are you sure their molting. I thought they didnt molt untill they are a year old. But I could be wrong. I have pullets that will be a yr in Feb. I sure hope they dont do that until august.
