So I was outside counting my herd to make sure they are all home and I notice I am missing one guinea fowl.. we only had 6 but we had some disappear and now we only two but any way I looked for my second one there she is in my tall grass. I looked at she is just sitting there and she is hissing at me and trying to peck me... could she be broody? If not then what is she doing?

Welcomed to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Yes, she could very well be broody. My grandma raised guineas all the time. Whenever they were broody they would just disappear. It was my brother and my job to find their hidden nests. Sadly, almost every time they did this, they were killed.

I would ask other guinea owners here

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sounds like she is broody. You can either leave her be, but as Mountain Peeps has said, predators can get her, or you can try to move her. This is best done at night time. Have the nest box all ready. Move the eggs first, then move her. Get her into the coop as quick and smoothly as possible. If you do this in the darkness, many times they will stay on the nest.

Definitely follow the link to the Guinea section that Mountain Peeps has left for you. Welcome to our flock and good luck with this broody!

Welcome to BYC - sounds as if she is broody - I would be concerned that whatever caused the others to disappear will also 'disappear' her.
